A traditional curved slick with an oak handle – a classic old-style design, handcrafted by a domestic blacksmith.

The curved slick’s primary purpose is to work the broadaxe finish into log surfaces where an axe cannot reach – for example, at log corners and along ceiling and floor lines. The curved slick is also suitable for lighter adzing work on board and plank surfaces.

The tool is made from tool steel. The blade profile is both concave and curved at the cutting edge. The cutting edge measures approximately 120 mm in width (straight measurement) and the steel section is approximately 300 mm long. The oak handle is approximately 400 mm long. Exact dimensions vary by production batch.

Forged at a blacksmith’s workshop in Nuutajärvi, Finland.
