Log chisels

Blacksmith-made log chisels are essential tools for log builders. The chisels feature a full-length metal tang with a welded striking cap. Handles are oak, finished with tar wax. The chisels are delivered razor-sharp from the smith’s workshop.

Never strike a chisel with a metal tool: the striking cap may give way and the handle may split. Use only a wooden mallet or a plastic/nylon hammer.

The paring chisel and curved slick have wooden handles and are not intended to be struck.

All chisels and slicks are made in Nuutajärvi, Finland, at a local blacksmith’s workshop.
